Simply the anser is Yes. Having Polycystic Ovaries does not mean that laser hair removal does not work, but it does mean that the rate of re-growth of hair follicles following treatment is more variable.
Currently over 20% of our clients have Polycystic Ovaries, and we have been able to achieve very good consistent results for virtually all of them. Consequently, during the initial consultation we will explore the history behind your Polycystic Ovaries to get an understanding of how it has developed and progressed, and how it has been managed by your personal GP or hospital consultant. We will also explore how the condition has affected you both physically and mentally, after which we will look to advise you on the merits of laser hair removal and what can be achieved. Your case will be assessed in detail by our resident cosmetic doctor Dr Kandhari, to ensure that a treatment plan can be devised to maximise the effectiveness of the treatment.
As a guide the majority of Polycystic Ovary sufferers have a standard course of 6 laser hair removal treatments for any given area, after which they enter a maintenance program. The frequency of treatments during the maintenance program is where the major difference exists between those that have Polycystic Ovaries and those that do not. Our experience has shown that the frequency of maintenance treatments can vary from a single treatment every six weeks to one treatment per year. We offer discounted maintenance programs for clients suffering from Polycystic Ovaries, and so even if you have had treatment elsewhere please feel free to call us up and book in for a free assessment to see how we can improve the quality of the results you have been getting, whilst also providing some cost savings.
